Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Koko FitClub

Today kicks off Breast Cancer Awareness Month and, all across the country, people are wearing pink, remembering and honoring our strong survivors and loved ones who have been touched by this terrible disease.

In honor of breast cancer survivors everywhere, during the month of October,  select Koko FitClub locations are offering a free 30-day program of strength conditioning, cardio training and coaching to any breast cancer survivor who signs up by October 31, 2015. This 30-day program of complete fitness includes a strength assessment and body composition screening, coaching by a certified fitness professional, and safe, progressive, strength and cardio workouts completely customized through Koko FitClub’s state-of-the-art Smartraining™ fitness technology and equipment.

Select Koko FitClubs will serve as official American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer donation centers, collecting donations from members and the community. For the month of October, these Koko FitClubs are offering non-members a chance to make a $30 donation to American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and, in return, receive a 30-day Koko FitClub trial membership as a special “thank you”.

Through its Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks and related fundraising efforts, the American Cancer Society is currently investing over $86 million in breast cancer research, helping everyone in every community who is touched by breast cancer. This includes those who are currently dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis, those who may face a diagnosis in the future, and those who may avoid a diagnosis altogether thanks to education and risk reduction. During Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, Koko FitClub and the American Cancer Society are partnering to honor breast cancer survivors and help raise money and awareness for breast cancer research, prevention and recovery.

For years, Koko FitClubs nationwide have partnered with the American Cancer Society in a shared mission to raise awareness of the important role fitness and nutrition play in the prevention and recovery of various cancers, including breast cancer.

Research shows that, after surviving breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, regular exercise and moderate, progressive strength training plays an important role in recovery. Koko FitClub has developed a year-long Healthtracks Breast Cancer Recovery training program to assist breast cancer survivors on their journey back to reclaiming their strength and their lives.

With our specialty Breast Cancer Recovery program and other progressive strength conditioning programs, Koko has helped thousands of members improve their health and change their lives, including breast cancer survivor, Sherri Menslage. “I have always been very intimated by gyms. I just always felt so defeated and never wanted to go back. But, I told myself that I needed to do this to keep my body healthy. I had heard about Koko FitClub and stopped in to see what all was about. Let me just tell you right now, IT’S AWESOME! It’s so motivating, I enjoy my workout every time I’m in there. I have not missed a day. I’m feeling stronger, less tired, and great about myself… I would like, from the bottom of my heart, to thank Koko FitClub. It has changed my life.”
