Candy Cleanse

By November 6, 2014July 11th, 2021No Comments

Stop Eating Halloween CandyHalloween has come and gone but I’m sure there are some sugary remnants still lurking around your house or office, especially if you have young kids. It’s amazing how much we love a little dark chocolate isn’t it?  So maybe you over-indulged a bit these past few days. Don’t worry, all it takes is a day or two to “reset” your body.

The best way to do this is to start first by pushing the water. Try drinking a big glass first thing each morning to get your metabolism going,  then have a glass before each meal and snack. Your goal for the next few days is to stay away from all sports drinks, juices, soda and yes, alcohol. It’s time for a natural, healthy cleanse.

Next, work on eliminating all the added sugar in your diet for the next week. Toss that leftover candy in the trash. Sugar is in just about everything, so some will undoubtedly sneak in — just  try to eliminate it as best you can. This is done by reading every food label on every package, can or box that you pull out of your refrigerator or cabinet. Remember, “You can’t manage what you can’t measure.” So start keeping track of one item: grams of added sugar.  Put yourself on a daily budget of added sugar and stick to it.

The third and final piece of this natural cleanse is get busy with Koko Smartraining. A typical 30-minute circuit-based strength session can potentially expend upwards of 175-350 calories/session depending on body weight. A typical 15-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) cardio session can burn 100-200+ calories/session, again, depending on body weight and intensity level.  There is also an added benefit of HIT sessions that is known as the “after-burn” or excess-post oxygen consumption (EPOC). Depending on the intensity and duration of the activity, an individuals metabolism can stay elevated post workout burning additional calories.

So don’t beat yourself up after a Halloween candy splurge. Just try the natural cleanse and stay consistent through this difficult time with a little more Smartraining!
