3 OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES TO FIRE UP YOUR METABOLISM.
1. Trail Running: Trail running is a great way to work your quads, calves, glutes, core and get in your cardio for the day!
You don’t have to run dozens of miles for your body to receive the benefits of running on the road less traveled! The offroad trail works your body in different ways than a concrete road or treadmill. For example, when running downhill, you use your quads to slow down your pace so you don’t go too fast, which will, in turn, build strength and definition. On the opposite end, running uphill will target your calves and use your glutes for power to get up the hill. Also, the inconsistency of the trail will require you to use your core muscles to keep yourself stabilized while you run. The most important benefits are being outdoors, breathing in fresh air, and spending time in nature to renew yourself.

If you want an outdoors, nature run, then go to Ceres Park in Sewell NJ(visit their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Ceres-Park/104439562948681 for more info). A unique place to run is on the Ben Franklin Bridge in Camden NJ, which has many places to eat nearby, like Cafe Ole (147 N 3rd St, Philadelphia, PA 19106) after you get done your run!
2. Mountain Biking: Mountain Biking will give your legs the workout it needs this summer!
Unlike using a stationary bike at home or the gym, using a real bike will allow you to enjoy the scenery outside, the ever-changing ground, and the feel of fresh air and wind hitting your body as you pedal. Who doesn’t love a challenging bike ride to work on your fitness? Mountain biking specifically works your quads, hamstrings, calves, glutes, core, and arms; making it the perfect workout for you to try this season.
